Medicaid

While Medicare is a Federal program, Medicaid is administered by the individual states. It’s called by different names in different states but for our discussion we’ll refer to it as Medicaid. Medicaid is a program designed for individuals with low income or special needs. There are different tiers of Medicaid depending upon income levels. If an individual qualified for 100% Medicaid then all of your Medicare cost share will be paid by Medicaid including your Part B premium. Medicaid will lower the cost of Medications, provide transportation benefits and provide for long term care. It is important to note that not all doctors participate in Medicaid.
